Justice is one of the chapters in Tales from Twilight Town

I read The Quest last night. It was perfectly fine, but I would hardly put it up alongside the actual series. For one, it's not even an adventure, and for two it's barely a story. Most importantly, iisaw accurately says in the comments that it's almost completely unrelated to the other stories. I can see that it's an expansion on the AU scene at the end of Twilight Enigma, naming the same changeling and dragon, but otherwise it's unrecognizable.
What the story actually is is several thousand words of middle-finger-to-G5 worldbuilding and giving Alicorn II Twilight a horn job. Not that those are bad things, but the real series already does them better by actually having Twilight kick flank and not just toss some head explode emojis at the face of the perspective OC, Matrix Architect-style. Also, I have the same dislike of a detail in this story that I did in that scene from Twilight Enigma: Luna should be with Twilight and not in the moon. It's worse that both the cosmic sister are gone.

Anyway, I mostly like the concept of ponies lacking perspective of how good they have it. The bad thing about that is how they've lost their history. I liked all the magically modified plants especially, Twilight making three more varieties of tree houses is probably the most pony thing about the story. But it's really just a oneshot concept of pony utopia. A good one, and recommendable as an alternate take on Celestia's centralized system (the lack of Celestia feels like a reason for why they would forget their past), and a particularly good use of changelings.

On its own, though, I'm not even sure that it's better than the On the Rocks collection.
