OP is one of the worst weeb franchises to choose from. It's got lots of sexual content that's not appropriate for kids, but they're the new sets that are most appealing to kids. The circus tent, Baratie, and Arlong Park look really cool, but I refuse to support that theme. God help us if Lego gets taken over by anime slop. Today it's Netflix OP, next year it will be Pokemon, and in 5 years it will be Genshin Impact and Oreimo buildable figurines.
If Lego wanted to do Japanese stuff, they could have done Ultraman. Qman made some really good Ultraman Tiga sets. Ultraman would be a great theme -- you could have buildable kaiju, cool vehicles, a defense base, and buildable Ultra figures (you could even give the Ultra figures cockpits for their hosts to draw in mecha fans). It would have had something for everyone. Lego could have done that, but I guess they had to choose the most Reddit option possible.
