I'll show you my Goldy and tell you what I learned from it, maybe it will help. I may not be 100% correct on all the numbers.
Everyone and their mom on /v/ will say this is too much Stam and they are right. But from my observations too much Stam is much better then not enough Stam. Long races are decided by 3 race lengths 2400 2500 and 3000. What most people will do is rng shoot for 2400 and 2500 and undercut their Stam accepting they will lose the 3k and go for like 700/ 800 Stam.
That said, from my observations my goldships shits on these horses 80% of the time even in the 2400. There is this issue that the JP version is like 4 years ahead so all the information that trickles down to us has an issue with not accounting for the gameplay patches and updates. That's why you have situations where people tell you guts is godly and others will say it's the most worthless thing, or there is a cap you should aim for etc. From everything I have seen 1000 Stam horses seem to be the most optimal. 800 1000 seems to beat my goldshi but 1000 800 lose every time.
This is of course accounting that you have 1 gold Stam skill and 1 blue Stam skill which seems to the standard for winning horses in long. For STARS, I'm running 9 Stam guest with a 333 homegrown. For my deck it was 2 agi 1 str 2 Stam 1 wis but that's just what's optimal for me due to the kind of cards I have Maxxed out.
If anyone has anything to add I would love to hear it
