There's also the secret bonus reason that after an update, every G1 race your grandparents have in common with your parents, and parents have in common with each other, increase your affinity score by 3, so if your collective 6 legacies all did a clean sweep of hopeful stakes and all 3 triple crowns, they would gain 150 affinity and give double rings no matter who the inheriting uma is.

the current system is 1 point for every shared graded win which is much more restrictive but still worth a lot if well coordinated.
