Not the 'female counterpart', they aren't separate entities in my case. They are what is called a Rebis, the alchemical wedding between the Red King and the White Queen. I am assuming that the mortal Babalon was thrown into Gehenna as well, as she was Nephilim and just as depraved as Azazel, and that many 'new' gods are actually descended from her.
So these two chucklefucks are melting and roasting alive in the unmaking fires of Gehenna. The goal was to annihilate them, however...that didn't turn out right. The husband and wife began to eat each other, the wife giving birth while devouring Samael's flesh. Likewise, Samael is impregnating her and devouring her flesh, the unmaking fires acting as Tanin'iver, and causing sublimation. The flesh of the two begins to meld. The alchemical process takes over, and you get yourselves a Philosopher's Stone, one composite being. Samael's form is the Great Beast, and the Matron's form becomes the Whore of Babylon or just Babalon. Since Babalon got the brains and Samael got the brawns, she's the dominant personality. So there's your Satan.
She is kept in 'check' by the primordial water. Which has their own chimerical union with Poseidon and Tiamat/Thalassa (another story for later).
