Some times being a new player makes you feel as if the game itself treats you like a secondary citizen because the story, both the main AQ and random event stories, some times reference older events that you never were around for. Similarly some of the characters I have could probably use some of the random weapons they gave out a long time ago, but those are just impossible to obtain even though it apparently (haven't played them) is possible to both replay the quests and obtain old equipment in the other games made by the same company
Similarly half of the characters on the current Inazuma chronicle banner are characters I've never once had a chance to see outside of their sole appearance in their own story quest since I never got to see them show up in seasonal events which, based on the select few I've been able to do, often provide either much-needed characterisation or just some light-hearted gags you'll remember for some time
