The plot of Contagion is almost exactly the same as how Covid transpired. And it seems very obvious they used this movie, and other similar movies, as a way to prime masses of people for the planned Covid event. Then when Covid was rolled out most people were already aware of how they should respond, and fell in line, no questions asked.
