Going out as in... going outside to do whatever it is by herself? For a walk, shopping, socializing, etc. I guess running an errand would fit that bill, but when you consider the fact that Chino used to have problem with socializing, it's pretty obvious that the artwork is implying that she's no longer like that, that she's proud of it, and she's no longer a scaredy child (子供じゃないです) despite her looks, so "going out alone" is a better translation. I'm pretty sure it is referring to the city trip as well.
