Meanwhile Girls' Frontline Commander

>Not a super special anything, just a guy who's really good at tactics and who graduated from a military academy
>If anything his "special power" is being able to have empathy and love for T-Dolls in a world where such things are in short supply
>A decent fighter, but would lose to almost any T-Doll and can't do much against trained soldiers unless he's got some real serious backup. If you shoot him he'll just die
>Doesn't always win
>Doesn't always make the right calls
>Can't save everyone
>Not able to save the world, will maybe be able to stop Europe from getting worse
>Most victories come at a severe cost or are utterly phyrric
>Still has trauma from the time he was captured and tortured by Paradeus
>Still has survivors guilt from the way he wasn't able to save Ange and the friends that sacrificed their lives to rescue her
>Deeply embittered about the way that even taking down Paradeus cost him friends and loved ones
>His reward was being recognised as being far too dangerous to be allowed to roam freely in the world- he now had sole command and loyalty of over 400+ T-Dolls, Tanks, Artillery, enough munitions to topple a country
>Gave up everything, his authority, his status, and even the bonds he had with his T-Dolls to escape being used as a pawn, and to give his Dolls freedom that they couldn't normally have
>His Dolls are treated not as property but as people, able to buy land, earn money, start business, travel freely, and in return he was sent into exile unable to contact any of them for 10years
>The weight of guilt at doing this and abandoning everyone he loved makes the reunions 10years later so difficult he can barely get his words out. It's not until both Springfield and Klukai have supported him that he's able to accept the love his Dolls still have for him

Basically, just a guy doing his best, with trauma that's actually relevant and a story that's part of the plot.
