To be honest Saw isn't supposed to be "scary". Yeah, the situations and the traps are sick, but even with that Saw is more centered in moral dilemmas, criminology and suspense. In the early movies there isn't that much gore, maybe Saw 3D is the goriest (despite the shitty pink blood). Just look away at the gory parts, 90% of the movies are suspense, drama, and police investigation
