Here in Brazil we mostly follow the Italian stories. When I was a kid, I never understood why Donald never appeared in the same comics as Mickey, even if they shared cartoon episodes together. There were a few references here and there, so I decided to write to the editor and ask that, and he actually published my letter! He replied that the comics in Brazil mostly followed the Italian ones, and Donald was more popular there than Mickey was. He then made a list of a few comics (I think it was 5 or 6) where they appear together.
Trivia: the Phantom Blot is mostly forgot in the American comics, but he appeared so many times in Mickey stories in Brazil that one football team, Palmeiras, made him their mascot - just changing the color from black to green.
