I thought the post meant that I should be grinding fundies instead of drawing anime which I was questioning. Although I have heard the Japanese are big fans of Loomis san, which I derided when I first started since it seemed basic, but maybe there's esoteric knowledge yet to be gleaned. I like Hogarth because some of his stuff feels remniscient of Baki. I learned not too long ago you need real anime (or manga) to draw anime

Honing in on one artist was never the way I worked but it could be useful for a cohesive end goal instead of aimlessly studying. I am looking for a more coomer image but I spent 10 minutes going through nhentai looking for visually interesting stuff and found some styles I like but issues with everyone. Anmo Night has a really interesting look but so much of his work has scat and excessive weirdness. Abubu has a nice style too but there's lolis everywhere and I don't like flat chests (or hips). And there's many that only have a handful of works!
The list I came up with is sagattoru (I really love the way he draws women with slightly longer torsos), chin, alp, nanao yukiji and hiyo hiyo. But I wonder if I shouldn't just choose an actual mangaka and learn it their way...?
