The gameplay had cool, in-depth systems but none of it was necessary, even on the hardest difficulty, because you could just build 1-3 really strong units and ram through everything. My unit of Monica's Otome Harem (Monica + the three cavalry bros) could steamroll entire levels on their own, and the MC's unit was stronger.
