Was in a thread on /v/ where somebody told me the newly patched lost evolution game was a strict upgrade to dawn/dusk. So I gave it a shot.

Dawn and Dusk are very flawed, but anybody who thinks this is an upgrade should be killed with hammers.

It's literally just a rehash of d/d but more annoying. Same levels (literally, some of the maps are exact 1-1 replicas from d/d), the bug plates system was lab tested and researched to pad the game out and waste as much of your time as possible (Why are the tools so finicky? Why do you need to manually slot each digivolution into the tree, and why even give the option to select which tree if you can't get it wrong? Why can't you see the evolution req's, or even just the digimon further in the tree without unlocking their plate first? Why is selling off unneeded plates so cumbersome?) Combat and evolution is dumbed down, no more unique special moves for each mon, and you can only have 4 skills per. No more species xp, no more dna digivolve (which was clunky to be fair, but at least it was satisfying once all the pieces fell into place).
Worst of all, the art for some of the new mons is straight up fan-fiction tier. They clearly skipped QA or something.
