the portals came with the towers falling and making walls bit though they got rid of that but kept the portals, the best thing about arams were the timing with death and coming back, the portals are what i don't like about new aram but to be honest i don't like the hardcore aramers more and i have a higher chance of being placed with 4 premades that threaten to report me and stuff if i don't play full tank engage slave up to their liking like as if im in their voice comms or something to coordinate or whatever, theres also a high chance of you getting literal bot accounts and other lame stuff like getting an enemy brand/nid all the time, it gets boring when the pattern is set
