the T-345A is for basic training (after the SF260 and phase 2 - 3 - IPC etc) while the T-346A is for LIFT.
You have to remember that due to aging trainers, different philosophies etc different air forces have different requirements for their phases and LIFT.

In the US, even if totally inadequate, future 5th gen and 6th gen pilots they are still flying the T38 until Boeing can deliver the first T-7s.
France and Switzerland seem to want to do the entire training on the PC-21 even for LIFT

A dedicated airframe like the T-346 or the T-7 is still the superior choice considering that once you're in LIFT you're only training SA etc.
One of the reasons the International Flight Training School of Leonardo in Sardinia was such a success is precisely due to many countries still relying on their old trainers and having no alternatives. The positive side effect is that then you'll have pilots who have trained on the T-346 and will shill them at home (see Austria that now bought them and Japan unveiling their domestic T-X concept that is really close to the 346)
