The mathematics of QCD (Proton mechanics) should explode. By all accounts, Protons shouldn't exist. At every level of trying to define a Proton, they either want to degenerate into another type of Baryon (Nuetron or Lambda), or they rip each other apart, or their influence extends over all of reality and everything collapses into one Proton. In this case Proton's volume can be defined, but will diverge quickly and thus fall apart. Photons and Electrons don't have this issue with figuring out their volume because they know how to add 1+2=2+1, but Protons are a little stupid and don't know that, they need a little help. How can you make sure that the Proton's know what they volume is? Well its very simple, you fold spacetime a little bit inside of a Proton. Just cut a proton's dimensions in half, and that little guy can now do it.
The science dude's postulated this dimension cutting, just pulled it out of their ass, tested it, and it was the case. They literally just folded space time to solve a math problem and the universe was like "ok, that makes sense," they manifested space time cutting and folding.
