>Why shouldn't Ukraine defend themselves?
Because they are a small country caught between two giants fighting over who gets to rape them (extract their resources).
But that doesn't really answer the question. Morally I think they should defend themselves, it's their right to exist.
Logistically though Ukraine has been turned into a meat shield by NATO - which is trickling in just enough support to bleed Russia, but not enough to allow Ukrainians to win.
Then again, can Ukraine even win with full support? This conflict is evidence that modern technology has yet again changed how wars are fought.
Drones have changed the economics drastically.
How many of you are aware that a single 155mm shell fired by a howitzer costs _multiple thousands of dollars_?
Pfft! Now they slap some c4 onto an rc plane, or attach a grenade to a chink made quadcopter for half that, and apparently that outranges artillery, and is more precise too.
The U.S. found out the hard way in the middle east that ied and rusty aks, while not technically superior in a fight, are economically superior over a prolonged conflict.
Fuck what a nightmare. It's the Maxim all over again.
