when the world is so populous and globalized w/ the economy and internet you would at least hope that people self select into jobs they are good at. but that's not how it works. every single country rich or poor now has the same exact culture of promoting subversion at all levels. you'll never really create anything new yourself, not when other things already have such a head start, not when they take up all the mindspace, not when they write the laws, not when everyone must play along with them to survive. you can't plant something in fallow earth and expect it to grow. you can only pick one of the countless silos blocking out the sun and try to climb it if you want to escape the miasma on the surface. in this framework, of course people put themselves in the place that confers the most personal benefit so long as they adhere to the bare minimum of its conventions and stated goals. it doesn't matter if on the inside you do not belong there. just act as is expected of you, and very soon, it will become more trouble than it's worth to excise you. this is the best possible outcome for most sufferers. diffuse the sin of the self through the group just as it diffuses its sin through the individual. the slow death of a body due to your role as a cancerous organ, will never affect you. you will be gone by the time it's dead, and its death will do nothing to deter people like you from doing it again. because both death and half-death is in the system's interest. silverfish will make nest in the next place of disrepair. taking little and invisibly enough from the dead and dying so as to never be bothered by the living.

basically i just wanted to make the distinction that fauna isn't and wasn't good at her job. the job is good at her. i think that's why vtuber fans are so attracted to the idea of girlfailures, and so repulsed by the 2D avatar gimmick being hermit crabbed by normatively functioning people like fauna. it's not just entertainment. every new thing has the potential for a new strain of person to be born. we want to believe that one day we'll find something so utterly itself that the mimics and structures of before cannot emulate and assimilate it, forever preempting the future. we want to know that there can be change. i don't live every day waiting for something that will never come. but i still believe that autism represents the final solitary sapling cracking through the asphalt of a completely paved over world. thank you
