And it's not the story. Most people get into it because it has (had) the best art and music in the genre. The gameplay and party-building are pretty neat and it's one of the few gacha with legitimate co-op multiplayer, let alone where that's the main content. However, the main appeal is the insulting, masochistic grinds. You need to be able to get off to how ridiculous the game's demands for progress are.
It's undeniably been on a downward trajectory for years with changing staff, increasing jewery and P2W though, and it's shallower to begin with compared to older hardcore MMOs and ARPGs like PSO, FFXI, MHF, OSRS, and PoE, so those are better choices if Granblue's full package sounds interesting. Otherwise satisfy yourself with the artbooks, soundtracks, and fighting game. The anime and LNs are fun adventures too, just don't get suckered in by them.
