What need to happens is that Europe decides to use the 200 billion of Russian cash, and it is cash, that are frozen in European banks and use them on rearming Ukraine. There will be a Ukraine after this war, so much is clear, they will have to rearm their entire army, that much is also clear. So any talk about using that money on rebuilding is pointless, because it isn´t clear what land they will have to rebuild once the war is over.
We do know for certain that they will need.
At least 40 modern jetfighters.
1000 artillery pieces.
200 mobile artillery pieces.
10 million artillery shells.
500 armored personnel carriers.
500 tanks.
U-boats for the Black Sea.
Their own military satellite.
Mines.
Rifles.
This is just at the top of my mind, that is completely obvious they will need. And since we don´t know if the war ends in one year or 7 years, talking about rebuilding is done by people who just assumes someone will win this war for them, when it´s probably their responsibility that the war is actually won.
You use the 200 billion to put down massive orders and in 2 years.
You could have 40 brand new F-16´s ready to fly in Ukraine, regardless if the war is over or not.
Have a factory spitting out 100.000 shells per month, just for Ukraine´s order of 10 million, regardless if the war is over or not.
Have a factory spitting out 20 mobile howitzers per month, just for the 200 Ukrainian mobile howitzers Ukraine ordered and so on.
This should have been done 2 years ago, but politicians kept sticking their head in the sand, hoping it would all go away. It´s not going to go away, Russia may collapse in a year or never. All this talk about using that money to rebuild Ukraine is just people sticking their head in the sand like they have done since this war started.
So there is 200 billion in cash. There´s a European military industry that could really use a cash injection to get up and going and there is a U.S willing to sell arms to Ukraine. Easy call.
