Avatarfags are always, ALWAYS the last line of defense of a dying MMO. When an MMO is in it's deathspiral, the avatarfags will be the only people still remaining in the game's threads still deending it. /wowg/ had the same thing happen during Shadowlands, the threads were pure doomposting, while the avatarfags like Foxxo were seething because of it, to the point where they would routinely go to the janny IRC to complain and have their pocket mod come in and nuke the entire thread. This happened almost daily during that time. Sometimes the mod would go into the archives and nuke every single post AFTER THE THREAD WAS ALREADY ARCHIVED.

I distinctly recall one time when a female dwarf avatarfag came in and complained that, because of all the doomposting on a daily basis, that he was quote "unable to find a good Tauren male to ERP with" (I am not making this shit up). This avatarfag then became to start doxing people who he was convinced were the same anons in /wowg/ threads doomposting everyday (based on posting style, he was literally going to other websites to scan wow-related threads to trying and sniff out /wowg/ doomposters and dox them).

The resident avatarfags here are just our version of these freaks. They will never go away and will be the only people propping up FFXIV threads if the game continues it's downward spiral. We'll one day find that XIV thraeds on /v/ are just a small handful of avatarfags ERPing with eachother as /xivg/ residents will have completely taken over as nobody who is actually sane will be left to push back against them.
