Thinking about that, was Onimaru even with Kawamatsu when we saw him? It could just be a case of him stealing swords from someone he sees as a villain. Taking it a step further Onimaru might have been fooled by someone with his master's appearance to target some of Wano's treasured swords. This doesn't at all address the stuff related to Onigashima, so I'm thinking this cover story will go on a while much longer.
