i made a list of how far common bullets take to reach 30in of wind drift to measure first shot hit or hunting range whereas supersonic flight would measure harassing range. energy included too
im surprised the magnum calibres are not as far reaching. 338 has a 1.5x gain and .308 only has a 1.18x gain over 5.56
6mm arc impressively exceeds .308 and nearly matches 6.5cm. 6 arc goes twice as far before transitioning (1200y vs 600y) despite being an intermediate round. it goes fast enough to fragment like 5.56 in varmint loadings unlike 6.5 grendel. it is really the perfect round and if it were as available as 5.56 it could easily do both cqb and dmr roles and .338 could handle anti-material for a complete rifle package in only 2 guns. cost and availability make 5.56/300wm or 5.56/6.5cm (semi) more practical but imagine if this was invested into instead of .277 fury
