They had the perfect setup for a kino scene and wasted it in the most retarded way possible. The strangest thing about it is that narratively it seems to be done to introduce that kid and his friends, "bandits who don't rob anyone" and instead "go around keeping the peace by challenging people to gunfights with rubber bullets". Except that they never come up again except in one cutscene, the concept is stupid and nothing is done to invest you in it, and the idea that gunfights are some kind of traditional problem resolution mechanism falls flat when you realize Koana was the one who introduced guns to those mud hut dwellers in the first place.
