Yeah that would work. Yaseu also sells a nice antenna mount that clamps to a body panel edge. No drilling required. There are cheaper Chinese versions of the clamp mount if the Yaseu one is too pricey.
Also don't worry grounding your CB for a vehicle install. It'll already be grounded through the antenna mount so no need to run an extra line off the shielding. The vehicles body is your ground plane.
