the one really cool and interesting detail that i've noticed (probably from some video essay i've watched ages ago) is the way that overwatch announcing system that you hear throughout the game everywhere from some hidden propaganda speakers or i guess directly from the freaking citadel somehow, namedropping you and addressing you directly and calling you the "anti-citizen one" and using all these other weird globohomo esque metaphors like gordon is just simply a bad cancerous cell on the healthy body of the combine that has to be amputated and sterilised like he's literally the only human being with some semblance of agency and aspiration for freedom left on the whole planet which is kind of true, i also like how fucking useless and pathetic all the metrocops are in the first chapters of the game which is probably mandated by the smooth difficulty scaling the game has but i like to imagine that they simply have no fucking idea what to do with the guy like gordon due to them doing nothing but punching down on the already defeated and docile population of the earth for like 90% of the time of their service to the combine so they never encountered any actual organised resistance on an individual level

it's not the og one that had just one concrete slab platform in the middle and nothing else, no matter zoomers are so into liminal crap now because weird nonsensical geometry like this was everywhere in the early ages of gaming and no one ever really pointed that out until somewhat recently (like 5 years ago at this point)
