Honestly? I don’t think the reaction was THAT vitriolic at first. It was the slop slurpers and their toxic positivity that pushed the people who didn’t like it into outright hostility. Combine that with the artist’s gross personal politics and the fact the art doesn’t translate into being shrunk down to trading card size (making it look cheap); and you’ve got a recipe for a nasty controversy. Frankly I’m tired of hearing about it and I don’t respect anybody who talked shit about the card’s critics during the initial flare up.
