Which albums did you post? I can't devote full time and attention to all albums that get posted in /xxr/, so for many I had to sample a song or check information about it online to gauge if it's just prawg or not.
I like prog metal... sometimes, but it tends to perform acrobatics in place rather than make progress, for the band or for the genre. Some "prog metal" bands even make borderline pop metal (for instance, I love Dan Swanö's Moontower, but it's metallic synth rock with growls). You also have to admit a lot of prog metal has a certain set of sounds and molds to it; styles either created or made fashionable by Dream Theater, Gojira, Opeth, Mastodon, etc..
For the experimental/progressive front of /xxr/, I wanted a standard higher than that. I can't define true/false prog for everyone, but I have to steer the ship some early on and set a direction.
