This is a deceptively simple art style, the appeal comes from the elements that look handmade, but this composition was intended for this perspective only, the whole arrangement of the world, geography, gameplay etc might not make sense from anywhere else when laid out in an actual 3D space that has to be a playable game and usually leads to games like Daggerfall

Alternatively you could make it a linear game with pretty backdrops but that sort of defeats the purpose
