I’m curious about what will happen after Putin.
He can never simply step down. He’s been behind too many mysterious deaths and suspicious assassinations to walk away safely.
When Yeltsin left power, Putin allowed him to fade into obscurity without facing any real danger. Yeltsin lived out his retirement in peace, drinking himself to death.
Putin won’t be granted that same exit. If he gives up power or is forced out, it will likely mean his death.
