Do your first play through without any mods imo, cuz its a deep deep ocean out there and it'd be good to understand how things work (or don't). There's a very common problem for players with this game where they don't even know what's fucking canon, cuz they install a bunch of "lore friendly" mods that are anything but.

There's a general on /vg/ that has some decent stuff in the OP, too, for when you're done with your first few playthroughs and wanna see more
