Why is it hard to defend? I feel like more or less a woman, I want to die if I have to look like a man, sound like a man, be seen as a man or live in the role of a man. I'm some kind of hermaphrodite both anatomically and neurologically and as society doesn't have a place for me, I'd much rather occupy the place of a woman than a man. I don't see why I should get rid of my dick to appease society or to make who or what I am more "defensible", what ever that means. I heavily disagree with penis being the ultimate symbol of masculinity. Male pattern baldness, beard, body hair, large amount of muscles, all of those are significantly more masculinizing than having a penis. Little boys have penises but they're not masculine at all until they get their secondary and tertiary sex traits from puberty and beyond. But growing a beard does make you masculine. I hate any and all masculine features my body uses to have and the few that remain, except the penis.

>It fundamentally others you from all other cis women
I'm fundamentally othered from cis women even if I get SRS. You're projecting a lot when you insist that no cis woman would like to have a penis even if they say they would. I once dated a woman who wanted one and she kept her opinion troughout the relationship. And she's not a dimwit. Your feelings are your own.
