Because this place first discovered and popularized the franchise, and once upon a time /v/ was rife with original content. There was also the /vg/ thread which used to have so much original content that you had ten simultaneous people at any given time producing stories alongside the official games, back when Freddy lore was much more mysterious. It got to the point where if the most recent Freddy game got dull or had been played to death you had 700 reply /vg/ threads just for discussing some content creator's original characters or whatever comic lore they were doing. Mercifully the modern internet never discovered that era because it was distracted by much bigger things of interest, like Pewdiepie or Markiplier.
