Despite her indeterminately young age, Trooper ‘Terri’ Garcia was a proper squaddie now and had been more than pulling her weight with the Vinehounds these last eight months. Still, you found it hard not to look at her like a kid. Even she didn’t know how her own age, and an upbringing in the dark horrors of a cramped Savis asteroid mine had left her with a diminutive build and constantly looking just on the right side of malnourishment regardless of how much she ate. Even now you sometimes slip her a spare ration bar or extra serving at dinner.

“You know where came up from, what she went through. Terri has the most reason out of any of us to hate the Savis Empire. But no, I worry about her least of all.” Crane seems certain, but you are not so sure. A ruthless pragmatist Terri may be, she hasn’t entirely sidelined her bloodlust. You reckon she’d willingly go out of her way to frag a few more Savs even if that isn’t what the mission strictly requires. “I am a bit more concerned that she did not get wind of whatever this is that Hail is working on. The man must be keeping this very close to his chest.”

You hadn’t hesitated to relay Trooper ‘Terri’ Garcia’s willingness to ingratiate herself with the rebels back to Crane, you both need to be on the same page when it comes to your troopers, though you had that thought your right hand man would have disapproved of the whole idea.

Instead it was the opposite. Compared to your own misgivings Crane hadn’t had any issue with it, he was even entirely nonchalant at Terri’s suggestion of sleeping with Alexander Hail as a means of furthering the Company’s intel on the day-to-day status of the Red Hand faction. He stopped short of admitting that such tactics may have been a common tool of those he worked for in his old life, but the notion of using one’s body to glean an advantage in that sense hadn’t troubled him like it had you. Sometimes you really struggle to understand Crane’s idea of honour.
