Publicist Andrei Piontkovsky told how Russian authorities create the appearance of availability of basic products.

"Here is an example of such a forgery. They are now massively dumping it on the Internet as evidence. I think it is clear who is doing this. And even in stores they change the price tags. And people at the checkout do not understand why not fifty rubles, but all three hundred. They are told: "This is what we need now. Don't tell anyone." Their task is to prevent panic, so they go for it. Appearance, you understand? One big appearance everywhere."
