What can be attributed to corruption is actually straight up ineptitude here. The MoD is very fond of wasting money. Hence why the UK wants to switch to another rifle gradually while not building a single one here.
My favourites are a body armour replacement that nobody likes and a UOR pistol that never passed field trials for an actual replacement to the browning hi-power.
