Well, the problem is that they learn 6 years of it and they learn pronunciation through really bad teachers and from katakana. So the kid learns "Sally got hacked on the tea app by 4chan yesterday" becomes サリー ゴット ハクド オン ザー ティー アップ バイ フォアチャン イエスタデイ or "sarii gotta hakudo on zaa teii appu bai foachan iesutadei"

And then that horrible pronunciation is set in their mind when they join the workforce hwaws
