Guys at IzhMash are playing silly buggers again, it looks like.

I was always fond of stuff like in the OP pic — the "casual mecha" as I like to call it. A bit like steam or dieselpunk, where instead of steam/diesel/atomics/etc the technological development went with a heavy emphasis on the mecha instead of an automobile.
So much would revolve around mecha, big and small, mostly small, that take the place of everything from farm tractors, to quarry trucks, to walking tanks. In a way, it'd be mirroring what happened in nature, as silly as it may feel.
Would be nice to know what system would handle something like that — small mecha (i.e. pilot and maybe one or two gunners) with heavy customization and not focused on waging wars and combat 24/7.

Yes. I like variety, and the various amount of legs strikes balance hue between complexity, maintenance, stability, and maximum load.
I do draw the line at wheels, treads, and anti-gravs, however. Mecha on wheels or treads looks silly to me, unless they're somehow a part of the legs.
Even a centaur-like one would look better, but that's just my, inherently inferior, opinion.
