What if you haven't washed your hands in a while? the signs that give away a visitor is present are that either their skin doesn't fit them (2nd visitor), or they show 0 empathetic behavior, the latter is the most telling. Every confirmed human will either tell you a story that shows they care about people, like the drunkard or are traveling together, like the sisters, the parent and the widow. There are a few red herring like the guy that claims he's an alien, and in the first demo there's a guy that's a human but kills during the night like a visitor.
