Beavers are very selective eaters. The larger chow probably has a bit more stuff in it that the beaver likes more. There's a lot of videos on YouTube of beavers foraging on riverbanks, they'll sniff around and pick out their favorite herbs first before eating the others. When I go beaver watching I've even seen beavers eat some and throw away some leaves from the same branch they're nibbling from. They truly are enjoyers of exquisite cuisine.
