I'll effortpost a bit before the thread gets slid, since it's a good question. Peter Thiel, and this generation of tech elites in general, get their paycheck for creating "futureproof" systems, that means systems which can survive wartime collapse, and the more likely option, civil unrest from a surveillance state. Having an apocalyptic ideological backdrop offers power players a pretty good pretext for establishing these new palantir surveillance systems and such, that's the immediate political aspect.

As for the religious perspective, Thiel is a professed transhumanist, he doesn't believe anything remotely resembling Christian dogma, his whole thing is about overcoming nature and death through technology. There's a public interview where he goes pretty in-depth into his beliefs, at least the ones he feels comfortable sharing in public, as he's a homosexual occultist, like a lot of the people in the silicon valley wing of the military industrial complex.

The last thing of note is that the politically relevant aspects of Christian eschatology (the rapture, the battle of armageddon) are ENTIRELY fictitious. Harvard and Yale distributed a copy of the Protestant Biblical canon with notations (the part at the bottom of the Bible that elaborate on verses) that support ZOG objectives.
The evangelical belief that the modern state of Israel is reinforced by Scofield notations on Genesis 12 (and the collective zionist lobby)
The belief that "Gog and Magog" in the battle of armageddon are Russia and Israel don't come from Scofield, but it was a later state department thing.
