SxM can absolutely have melodramatic psychological aspects to it and it's so great when it does, it's just too many people focus on the literal kink aspect and not how it can be a bit more interesting than that.
For example, Komaeda over here is the perfect bishie masochist character because he's obviously into the whole metal chain and tying up and everything and yet it's almost like, he came to love the pain because he has grown familiar with it. These dynamics are just more comfortable to him and it has to do with the trust I spoke of earlier... With Kamukoma, Kamukura really isn't a sadist but he isn't completely intelligent on the normal boundaries either so it's interesting to think about. Komaeda is 100% a pushy M who claims to be all submissive and milquetoast but he knows how to get what he wants.

Doesn't Yomi have an SxM dynamic with Martina? I have never played rain code (which I guess you also didn't) but Martina seemed like an interesting character, I don't really care for manlets eitherway. yomi is ugly
