I never understood those people that started to sincerely doompost. In all of the initiatives/petitions I have seen the vast majority of signings happens close to the deadline. My country had one on cannabis legalization and that petition did get the required number of signatures, and like 80% came during the final 48 hours. Its just how these things work. 450k signatures here was actually an incredibly strong base.
