After day, swing, and long-term trading crypto futures for 5 years, I came to the realization that the game is rigged. I have never made money consistently; in fact, I don’t even remember withdrawing 2% of what I lost in crypto. I grew tired of watching my monitor at 2 a.m., desperately waiting for a reversal only to wake up to a liquidation. This happened more times than I can remember.
the luckiest I ever got was when I managed to grow my portfolio by 80%, only to buy into Ethereum at the worst time possible, when the orange man launched tariffs.
In the whole course of trading crypto, I’ve seen it all: pumps and dumps, liquidity grabs, the FTX collapse, the Terra Luna collapse, market maker manipulation. One time, I watched the order book open a 20% gap just to push the market price up and liquidate my short at 3 a.m.
what hurt me the most was believing things would get better, and that I’d finally make it. But it only got worse.
over time, I became deeply depressed and volatile. My portfolio losses dictated how I treated the people around me and how much trouble I got into. I looked at my portfolio at least 30 times a day, also 30 mood swings a day.
and just when I thought things couldn’t get worse… Bitcoin finally pumped while I was holding a stinky short, after waiting 4 years to time the pump. I thought to myself: I will never make it with crypto convinced by the pain in my chest from all the past losses and the regrets that followed them.
> last time i traded crypto
one month ago, I decided to liquidate all my positions at a huge loss and permanently quit crypto.
> the replacement
was a prop firm trading. I opened an account with a reputable prop firm. After paying only $40, I got an evaluation account that I managed to pass with ease, honestly, I think trading crypto gave me an edge since it's extremely manipulated.
