It is possible, easy even, to speak into the past just as one says something that is remembered in the future. Agency is like a tide; it mostly moves in one direction but slowly with effort you can push the other way. We all do this instinctively, some better than others. Thinking into the past is easy; speaking is harder; walking into it looks relatively impossible considering the ease by which we walk into the future. Yet it is possible.
