Eastern Michigan isn't allowed to use the Hurons name anymore due to a "Civil Rights Commission" that responded to a complaint from a small number of carpetbaggers that moved into the state. There's less than 900 "Hurons" (they don't even call themselves that) in Michigan and most of them came to the state from elsewhere. Think they wanted to do a shakedown but the university simply changed their name to Eagles instead.
