t. alky - I'd make a couple of suggestions
- if you're drinking a lot, regularly, see a gp. Going cold turkey on booze if you're intake is high and regular can have some srs side effects
- naltraxone helps, acamprosate as well - again gp.
- get a hobby: going dry is great until you're sitting their twiddling your thumbs at 1700 on a Fri arvo. Idle hands etc. etc.
- I wouldn't swap 1 for another. That's just changing poisons. Try going dry for a while first and then see if you want to gummy/cone up.
