More I look at this the more I hate the destruction of symmetry and all the work that went into making the building, bushes, lights symmetric. Turns out there's a reason every great building on the planet that's symmetrical doesn't fly flags like this.

Prevailing winds are westerly in DC (right to left on this picture) so the flags will also predominantly be flying 'backwards' from the standard presentation for the majority of the time.

I don't think they thought this through properly.
