I wouldn't discard simply human malice/stupidity/boredom, there's plenty of people whose world view is reduced to:

>Trannies, liberals, DEI, communists (most common on xitter)
And it's just spílling here because one guy had did a flip while having a SS profile picture.

The second, more conspiratorial, would be malicious actors using related topics to push a position or create strawmen. Either to force someone to pick their position by seemingly being the majority by peer pressure or by making the opposition seem so stupid that the only reasonable position is theirs.
